1.How did this site come to be?

"Adventures In Karaoke" started off as a blog by a karaoke fan. It was given to us at the end of 2005. We worked on it for a few months, and began the site in it's current form in the summer of 2006.

2. How often do you update your schedules?

We use several sources for information on the shows taking place in Maryland. Newspapers, web sites, and such. Word of mouth is how we get information about a lot of shows, too. Someone checks the various sources once a day, and updates and/or cancellations are posted.

3. It looks like most of your show reviews are at only a few places. Why?

Well, that's probably because those are the shows that our writers go to. Many of the folks at this site started following one or two KJs, and have stuck with them throughout the years.

4. How can I submit a review of a show?

Anybody can submit a review of a show they have seen, by writing to webmaster@adventuresinkaraoke.com. Please put "SHOW REVIEW" in the subject field so we know it's a review, and not spam. We love hearing about the group you sing with, contests that are taking place, new equipment people are using, etc.

We'll take care of any typos, punctuation, and all of those pesky grammar rules for you. Submissions may be edited for brevity.

5. Why isn't the karaoke club I go to listed?

Probably because we don't know about it yet. We love to add new venues and KJs to the site, and you can help plug your favorite karaoke hangout by sending information about it to
webmaster@adventuresinkaraoke.com. Please type "NEW KARAOKE VENUE" in the subject field.

6. How much does it cost to be listed on your site?

We don't charge for submissions to the site. We put this site together because we love karaoke, just like you! We want people to know where they can go in their neighborhoods to sing.

7. I am a KJ. I'd like to be listed on your schedule and/or KJs page. What should I do?

That's excellent! We'd be happy to plug your show for you. Just send the following information to webmaster@adventuresinkaraoke.com:

a. The name of the venue.

b. Address.

c. Days and hours that your show runs.

d. Phone number of the venue.

e. Your name. If you have a web site, we'll list it for you on our "KJs With Web Sites page."

8. Hey! The place I wanted to go sing isn't doing karaoke. What gives!!??

Karaoke shows come and go, and venues are always looking for ways to bring in more customers. If karaoke is not drawing a crowd that the management wants, they may cancel a show. Sometimes, the KJ quits, or may be sick that week. We always tell people,

"SHOWS, DATES, AND TIMES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE. ALWAYS CALL AHEAD BEFORE GOING!"

The "Venues" page has a listing of places that do, or have held karaoke. We put that there as a resource for KJs that may be looking to expand their business, and for fans to find a capsulized listing of a venue. Just because a place is listed does not mean that they are currently having karaoke. CALL AHEAD BEFORE YOU GO.

In conclusion, we're only as current as what people tell us. We don't have the resources to check up on every show in the state. We look to you, our readers to help keep this site growing by sharing your information.

Thanks to all the KJs, clubs, and singers, who have contributed their watering holes of choice. We look forward to hearing from the rest of you. Your KJ can only stay as long as the venue is making money. Please support them. Eat, drink, and sing!
